I’ve not been posting here much ’cause I’ve been busy – and I have something new coming to this site. Hide your dishes and your daughters.
I needed to take a moment out to vent. I’m posting products on my Zazzle store. If you don’t know what Zazzle is it’s one of those print-on-demand online stores. I like their products and when Zazzle has fucked up they have always fixed it for free. They got that going for them.
What they don’t have going for them is user interface.
If you use Zazzle you know all this, if you don’t and are considering it here is what waits for you.
The colours are light blue text on a white background. Apparently no one at Zazzle has heard of contrast.
You can create albums to organize your files but unlike a file system such as exist on your computer you can have a file in more than one album. Think of it as creating shortcuts. The presence of the same file in multiple places make organization difficult.
The whole thing is slow and glitchy. When navigating the sub-folders if you click on the sub-folders too fast Zazzle will go into the sub-folder but not actually display any files.
One would think that while in the “my images” section it would be nice if you could click on an image and an option to “create product with this image” would appear. It would be nice. It doesn’t exist. The process to actually put an image on a product is tedious and long winded.
Best of all, if you are creating multiple products when you go to select the image you want to add to a product Zazzle does not remember either the sort order or the album you were last using. Thus you must go back thru sub-folders to get to where you wanna be, then change the sort order from the default if you need that to keep organized.
It would also be useful if Zazzle indicated in the “my images” section if a image was used on products or not.
Normally I like large text. In the case of Zazzle the text is large but the dialogue boxes are small. So you can’t read all the text.
And most amazing – every time I click on a menu of Zazzle my sound card glitches and the music I’m listening to cuts out.
Fucking hell people.
I’m posting this out of anger for all the time I’ve wasted trying to figure out this shit-stained user interface but also because if Zazzle get’s a clue maybe they will fix some of this shit.
That’s all for now, I gotta get back to the shit fest.
